In your ear!

Earbuds
Many of us are often on the go, love gadgets and loves entertainment.
As a result of this mobility, it gave rise to the recent trend of computing: smart phones, tablets etc..

While we are on the go, one thing we need, but often don't emphasize, is sound.
A good pair of earphones matter as it creates different tangible experiences given the right headphones.

Depending on your needs, they range from cheap, to decent, to very expensive ones. However, expensive earphones doesn't mean enjoyable earphones, it differs for everyone. Just like how some good musicians love cheap guitars, as long as they love the sound, as long as you enjoy the sound, who cares?

Earbuds
Earbuds, earphones, earpiece are some of the common names we hear.. they are actually mini drivers, or speakers designed to be small, to fit in your ear.

Traditional earbuds are placed outside the ear canal, therefore, sound leakage is present, the bass is not as strong and most importantly, it falls off easily and if I am not wrong, the modern stereo 3.5mm earbuds are made famous by Sony (just a little history here).

To people whose outer ear bone structure is wide, these earbuds will not stay in place. I am one such person. When I jog, it falls. When I walk, it falls. I cannot even maintain the earbud in place when I am stationery.

Some people prefer these earbuds as in-ear earbuds are well, uncomfortable for them.

In-ear earbuds
An innovative improvement of traditional earbuds, they are actually built to fit inside the ear canal.

They introduce ear cushions (most commonly rubber) that encase the sound emitting driver and take the shape of the inner ear canal, thus isolating the outer environmental sound and enabling users to listen to the music clearer. However, blocking the external sound has its Pros and Cons too.

Pros:
Good isolation provides better sound from the earbuds, as the ear takes in pure music instead of taking in noise at the same time, which is what traditional earbuds are doing. In-ear earbuds are also tighter in fitting in your ears, so that you can run, hike, cycle, do vigorous sports and still listen to music.

Cons:
As good as these earbuds sift out general noises and lets user enjoy their music, it can be devastating as these drivers are buried deep in the ears, which may cause permanent damage to hearing during prolonged usage.

Secondly, THEY ARE DANGEROUS when you jaywalk across the road, ride a bike on the road, jog on the road or other sports that require concentration! Ironically, what made these awesome delivery to your ears are what made them dangerous.
But of course with a little alertness they are fine.
