9 Deadly Words Used By Women

I don't know who did up this amazing and accurate list.

Probably made up by a kindhearted gentleman who had suffered long enough and decided to save the rest and be a great help to Man(kind).

And Don't Worry About It, She's Got It. This list is Fine. Go Ahead and read it, cus That's Okay, this list is suppose to help gentlemen everywhere and Whatever comes your way, Go Ahead and do Nothing. Say Thanks to her and give her Five Minutes with a Loud Sigh to do Whatever she throws at you.

Muse - The 2nd Law... Join in the Madness and Follow Me!

Monday morning, when I saw the miracle tweet of the online FULL album stream of Muse's new album (due out 1 Oct, next week) I knew I had to listen it, and have indeed been listening to it over and over from the first track to the last track over and over again.

I think it is a decent album, albeit an apparent change in music genres. It is not Muse's best album, but certainly there are good tracks and talents being showcased. Every song sounds different but that may mean two things for listeners and fans: messy or unique.

It is always good to try new things and Muse has been constantly pushing the boundaries. With this album Muse have tried out several styles and managed to also piss off some fans. Some people want it to sound like Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz. In that case, why don't they listen to Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz?

Also, The 2nd Law will be forever known and recognised as an album represented bu a colourful broccoli.

Personally, I have divided listening to the album into 3 sections. The first section which consists of 6 tracks- Supremacy, Madness, Panic Station, Prelude & Survival and Follow Me - it is a journey of ups and downs which goes from the intense 007 styled Supremacy to the calm minimal Madness to the funky Panic Station then to the pounding anthemic Survival followed by a cute and assuring song Follow Me.

I really enjoyed Madness and Panic Station. Madness is such a bare minimal song with such a simple drum beat.  It starts slowly and shines when Matt breaks into Panic Station has such a groovy with Chris funk-slapping his bass away, backed by Dom's triplet-sounding bass drums and 16th hi-hat.

Having watched The Making of 2nd Law (below), I realised what the choir parts were singing. They go (correct me if I am wrong) SO I TOLD YOU, SO I TOLD YOU, SO I TOLD YOU, SO I TOLD YOU and
YOU WERE WARNED AND DIDN'T LISTEN, YOU WERE WARNED AND DIDN'T LISTEN, YOU WERE WARNED AND DIDN'T LISTEN, YOU WERE WARNED AND DIDN'T LISTEN. Nicest part IMHO.

Also, Follow Me is quickly becoming one of my favourite. Lyrically it sounds like something what a father would tell a son. Musically it goes from a soft baby heart beat (Bingham's) to a loud
electronic dubstep sounding chorus. I can only imagine when Bingham grows up and listen to this track...

Next comes Animals, Explorers and Big Freeze.. three least favourite tracks of mine from the album. But they are growing on me. I believe they will grow even more after seeing them played live.

Animals remind me of the Showbiz era album. It sounds like Sunburn and Falling Down meet I Belong To You from The Resistance. This song feels cold. When I listen to it I feel cold. Without reference or looking at the lyrics, Explorers has this exploring sounding feel. I imagine an explorer alone in space exploring and trying to make sense of what comes next... which leads to Big Freeze. Matt sings: "We, Destroy Something Beautiful..." yea, you know what kind of song it is. BUT! With a twist. It sounds like U2. It sounds like Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of. Period. Now go listen to that.

The 3rd chunk of Save Me, Liquid State, The 2nd Law: Unsustainable and The 2nd Law: Isolated System forms the complete round up for the album.

Chris's moment came in the form of Save Me and Liquid State. The mysterious, somehow repetitive flat sounding of Save Me gives me the chills with a tinge of comfort and assurance. Coupled with the repentive lyrics.. Chris IS glad he is out of his previous condition. Masterpiece. Liquid State is an intense bass heavy and rock sounding declaration dislike of the drunk condition. Chris can write! And sing! And play! cool...........

The last 2 instrumental tracks of the album- The 2nd Law: Unsustainable and The 2nd Law: Isolated System is a blast. If you watch the making of 2nd Law, you will appreciate the work Muse go through and the passion they have for music. What I really like most is the fusion of classical instruments with electric guitar, distortion, bass and drums.

Unsustainable has a list of.. do you call them lyrics? They don't sound like that.. what is it called? Basically the apocalyptic message is that "if we continue to use energy not processed the right way we are all screwed"... and with the last line An economy based on endless growth is.......... Unsustainable!

weeeweeBooo! (from Matt. Watch below) Unsustain... Unsusssss...  Unsustainable!

Skrillex. Dubstep. Brostep. Musestep. Whatever. It is epic btw. Which then blends into an instrumental Muse styled progression...

The 2nd Law: Isolated System follows and it sounds like what I hear in documentaries about science, religion and nature. Very intense and thought provoking. I kept thinking of how a single cell evolved to a
Homer creature swimming in prehistoric waters, to a Homer dinosaur, to a Homer bird, to a Homer ape and to Homer.

Making of The 2nd Law:

The 2nd Law is an interesting and fantastic album.
The rock heavy Muse has been missing since Black Holes and Revelations and Absolution. Am already anticipating their live performances though.. IMHO good musicians always try, experiment and touch new grounds. Though some may hate, some may embrace. But one thing to note, as artists and musicians don't have to prove to anyone anything, they are not doing an art for the sake of others but themselves. But of course people do wanna make more money through music so..................

Having fun with the Kitara (Bonus Feature):

Every time I see these "making of" videos I really appreciate the effort by the band. I'm always intrigued in the making of their albums from Muse. Funny geniuses that really shows how making real music is all about. The passion and vibe.. amazing.

Muse Madness Live

Awesome live performance of Muse. Here they are playing their first single out of the new album that is coming out in October 2012 (in a week's time).

As always, Muse's live performance has more feel than the studio version of the songs.

Here we see Chris with a new haircut using the Kitara merged with a usual bass, looking badass.

Enjoy!

In your ear!

Earbuds
Many of us are often on the go, love gadgets and loves entertainment.
As a result of this mobility, it gave rise to the recent trend of computing: smart phones, tablets etc..

While we are on the go, one thing we need, but often don't emphasize, is sound.
A good pair of earphones matter as it creates different tangible experiences given the right headphones.

Depending on your needs, they range from cheap, to decent, to very expensive ones. However, expensive earphones doesn't mean enjoyable earphones, it differs for everyone. Just like how some good musicians love cheap guitars, as long as they love the sound, as long as you enjoy the sound, who cares?

Earbuds
Earbuds, earphones, earpiece are some of the common names we hear.. they are actually mini drivers, or speakers designed to be small, to fit in your ear.

Traditional earbuds are placed outside the ear canal, therefore, sound leakage is present, the bass is not as strong and most importantly, it falls off easily and if I am not wrong, the modern stereo 3.5mm earbuds are made famous by Sony (just a little history here).

To people whose outer ear bone structure is wide, these earbuds will not stay in place. I am one such person. When I jog, it falls. When I walk, it falls. I cannot even maintain the earbud in place when I am stationery.

Some people prefer these earbuds as in-ear earbuds are well, uncomfortable for them.

In-ear earbuds
An innovative improvement of traditional earbuds, they are actually built to fit inside the ear canal.

They introduce ear cushions (most commonly rubber) that encase the sound emitting driver and take the shape of the inner ear canal, thus isolating the outer environmental sound and enabling users to listen to the music clearer. However, blocking the external sound has its Pros and Cons too.

Pros:
Good isolation provides better sound from the earbuds, as the ear takes in pure music instead of taking in noise at the same time, which is what traditional earbuds are doing. In-ear earbuds are also tighter in fitting in your ears, so that you can run, hike, cycle, do vigorous sports and still listen to music.

Cons:
As good as these earbuds sift out general noises and lets user enjoy their music, it can be devastating as these drivers are buried deep in the ears, which may cause permanent damage to hearing during prolonged usage.

Secondly, THEY ARE DANGEROUS when you jaywalk across the road, ride a bike on the road, jog on the road or other sports that require concentration! Ironically, what made these awesome delivery to your ears are what made them dangerous.
But of course with a little alertness they are fine.

Is the new iPod Nano a Lumia ripoff or is the Lumia two Nano stacked?

The completely renanoed iPod Nano looks like an illegal child born from the sex of an iPod and a Nokia Lumia. Taking away the home button and click wheel on the previous Nano is a major design aesthetic, it makes the Nano even nanonier.

However in this latest iteration of the iPod Nano we see a home button, once again. Sure it brings convenience but at what price? IT’S BIGGER NOW! Where’s the nano in iPod Nano? Nevertheless, here are the cool new features:

Key Features:

Video
The new Nano has a 2.5 inch screen and plays video, now you can bring your movies, podcasts and home-made sex videos. This also means focusing your eyes on a smaller screen for as long as your video is. Can you imagine watching Avengers for 137 minutes on it?

Bluetooth
Bluetooth 4.0 built in to connect wirelessly to speakers, headphones and your car. This is good for joggers and eradicates cable mess.

Photos
Yay! Share your photos anywhere you go! Sounds like a good thing to have but not really a killer feature. Since we have our phones for that, who actually uses a 2.5 inch screen to share pictures, unless in desperate situations?

Earpods

While this is an accessory, being listed as one of the feature seems logical as they are designed and made to go hand in hand with the new iPod. It looks cool, like a pod literally, and they fit in “a variety of ear types” while producing the best quality of sound. From the picture we can see 2 drivers in each earbud.

This may mean separate drivers for high and mids frequencies. The subwoofer is built on the stem of the earpods. Apple even claimed “they rival high-end headphones.” Well this needs to be tried out before giving them thumbs up. I sure would want to try them out!
